Sarah Broome has worked at MCAP for 21 years and spent the last year in her current role, Senior Director of IT Solutions. In this position, she is accountable for leading initiatives for new sub-servicing business and improved automation, as well as continuous delivery and platform modernization. It’s just one of the ways the IT department at MCAP partners with the business to provide superior service to customers.
Having started working for MCAP right out of school as a Programmer Analyst supporting MCAP’s Single-Family mortgage servicing applications, over the years Sarah has gained experience and taken on new opportunities and responsibilities when they were presented to her. “Seizing opportunities has allowed me to accumulate a wealth of knowledge related to MCAP’s Single-Family Origination and Servicing business, applications, and architecture, which has led me to my current role where I support many different teams and business units on several different initiatives,” says Sarah.

What’s more, MCAP has a robust education assistance program, which Sarah has taken advantage of multiple times to obtain various certificates. As well, she is currently enrolled in the Athabasca University MBA program.
“The many resources available through MCAP have absolutely allowed me to advance my career over the years,” says Sarah.
The Impact of MCAP Blue Culture
At MCAP, there is a strong belief that the value we create goes beyond a mortgage. MCAP Blue Culture is a manifestation of that belief – more than a slogan or company promise, Blue Culture is at the heart of who we are and how we connect to what matters. For Sarah, MCAP Blue Culture is centred around collaboration and trust. “The executive team at MCAP provides a strong level of trust to MCAP staff, allowing us to use our experience and judgement to make decisions and provide feedback,” she says.
“As a leader, I aim to provide this same level of trust to my co-workers and direct reports. In my experience, this culture of trust and collaboration fosters an elevated level of performance and job satisfaction, as well as strong relationships between different teams and departments.”
While Sarah has spent her professional career with MCAP, the variety in work and opportunity has allowed her to take on a broad range of challenges and roles. “I love that MCAP is big enough to provide a multitude of opportunities and experiences but small enough that it still feels like I know everyone.”
Sarah’s contributions to the IT department represent just one example of the vast effort that enables MCAP to serve clients with expertise, confidence, knowledge, and kindness. Watch out for more Employee Spotlights showcasing other MCAP employees who contribute to the success of MCAP.
