In 1981, three individuals had a vision to form an independent provider of financial solutions, providing superior expertise in specific markets. Beginning with the acquisition of Interior Trust, the MCAP story has been evolving over the last 35 years.

Mutual Life acquires 75% stake in Interior Trust, renamed Mutual Trust Company (MTC)

MTC Mortgage Investment Corporation (MIC) is established and listed on the TSX

MTC acquires Focus National Mortgage Corp. which provides a major base of operations in BC

MFC is formed to manage the Residential Mortgage Division of The Mutual Group
