Vito Campisi is a Senior Director in MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Group. He joined MCAP in 2011 after a 33 year career with CMHC. Vito is responsible for originating, structuring and closing commercial mortgages with emphasis on CMHC mortgage insured products that include: multi-family rental, retirement homes, not-for-profit housing and student housing.

During his time at CMHC, Vito held various management positions in underwriting, finance, real estate, mortgage default management, non-profit housing delivery and housing agreements administration. Most notably, he managed the Ontario Region Multifamily and Homeowner Underwriting Departments from 1997 to 2011.

Jacques Pelletier is a Director of MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Group in the Montreal office. He is responsible for originating, structuring, and closing commercial real estate debt transactions for CMG’s investor accounts. Jacques joined MCAP in January 2018 to develop the commercial business line in the province of Quebec. He has over 30 years’ experience covering many facets of the commercial real estate industry. Most recently, Jacques retired after 28 years with CMHC where he has held different roles with increased responsibilities. In the last 5 years at CMHC, Jacques worked as a regional manager of multi-unit underwriting, where he lead a team of 40 employees responsible for loan approval for the Quebec Region. Jacques has developed extensive knowledge on the products and policies of mortgage loan insurance, CMHC underwriting practices and risk tolerance levels. Jacques has also been a lecturer at the École des Hautes Études Commerciaux, where he taught macroeconomics for 15 years. Jacques holds a M.A. in Economics from Queens University; he is fully bilingual and works out of MCAP’s Montreal Office. Jacques believes “the client deserves nothing but the best service” and he “works with enthusiasm and passion to deliver professional services and results to the clients”.

TJ Lee is a Director of MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Group in the Calgary office. He is responsible for originating, structuring, and closing commercial mortgages with emphasis on CMHC insured mortgage products. TJ has over 30 years of experience in real estate, financing and mortgage experience gained primarily with CMHC. Having held the position of Regional Manager/Director of Underwriting and Real Estate Default Management for over 15 years, and holding various positions at CMHC spanning over 25 years, TJ was responsible for managing and overseeing the real estate mortgage insurance operations in the Prairies and Territories Region- the largest geographical region in the country. In addition to annually overseeing multi-billion dollars of mortgage insurance and underwriting for both homeownership and multi-residential real estate, TJ’s other responsibilities included the management and oversight of Real Estate Default Management and properties in distress. TJ holds a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg and holds professional designations of Certified Property Manager (CPM), and Certified Financial Administration (CFAdmin), as well as memberships in Mortgage Professionals Canada (MPC) and RECA. With his wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience in Real Estate Financing and mortgage insurance, TJ has participated and presented on numerous occasions to various panels and sessions. Jonathan Matthews has an exceptional track record of success and leadership in construction and commercial term real estate finance. Currently the Senior Director of Origination with MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Group, Jonathan has spent over 15 years in commercial origination, portfolio management and investment management roles. A licensed mortgage broker, Jonathan holds a BCom from UBC, is a certified appraiser holding his AACI designation and is a CFA charterholder. He draws on his experience, education and robust industry expertise to successfully manage a multi-billion-dollar commercial mortgage portfolio and reach his annual goal of originating over $550 million in commercial mortgages. Jonathan is a firm believer in giving back to the community, donating 10% of his gross income every year.

Over the last nine years, Jan Kim has taken on progressively more challenging roles within the mortgage industry. Having started as an Associate at a Schedule I bank, she developed a stellar reputation at other financial institutions with a focus on construction financing. Prior to joining MCAP, she led a team responsible for underwriting and funding over $1 billion of loans for CMHC’s Rental Construction Financing Initiative (RCFI) affordable housing program. Today, as a Director with MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Group, Jan’s goal is to understand her clients’ needs and help them achieve their goals over the long-term. Jan is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University. Outside of work, she enjoys doing HIIT workouts, spending time with friends and family, and can be found in the garden trying to grow some green thumbs.

With over eight years in the commercial lending industry, Hasnain brings a high level of professionalism and positivity to his role as Associate Director for the CMG Origination Team. After receiving his Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Business and Financial Economics, he went on to work for Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) where he progressed through various roles, such as a Credit Adjudicator and Commercial Mortgage Analyst. In 2020, he joined the MCAP Commercial Origination team as an Analyst before being promoted to his current role in March of 2023.

Hasnain thrives on establishing positive human connections and elevating the experience for clients and team members. It’s through those relationships that he has been able to successfully work with high-net-worth borrowers and assist them in executing complicated deals. A well-rounded individual, he enjoys playing competitive squash and ten-pin bowling and participating in theatre and improv.

Although he began his career in accounting, he gained experience in treasury, commercial lending, hospitality, development finance, supportive housing, and more. Today, Michael is excited to be part of a lending program that is focused on providing affordable housing in Canada and is looking forward to keeping up strong momentum in this area in the coming years. Michael is a graduate of the University of Victoria and Camosun College and loves living in close proximity to the Rockies, where he takes full advantage of the environment by mountain biking, cross-country skiing and hiking – depending on the season. He is also a regular volunteer at the shelter, food bank and veteran’s food bank.

With about a decade experience in commercial real estate finance, Ify Iregbu, brings a depth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Director of Commercial Mortgage Origination.

He started his commercial real estate finance career as a commercial analyst at Meridian Credit Union, where he honed his skills through various underwriting, sales and sales leadership roles, with recognized exceptional track record of success. To date, he has originated, underwritten, structured and executed over $2 billion in term and construction loans across multiple real estate asset classes.

Ify has a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Finance from the United States International University-Africa and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick.

His priority in his current role is to utilize his real estate finance experience and expertise, entrepreneurial background, strong sales leadership, and client service skills to create value for MCAP’s clients to achieve their investment objectives. By leaning on his demonstrated leadership skills, he hopes to encourage team development and drive solid business results within MCAP.

In addition to his role as Director, Ify is a part-time professor at Canadore College teaching Performance Management. He is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys extreme sporting activities, travelling, exploring art and diverse cultures. He also volunteers in his community in support of various causes.

With more than nine years of commercial real estate finance experience, Stephane Francis brings valuable knowledge and insights to his role as MCAP’s Associate Director – Origination for the Commercial Mortgage Group.

Stephane holds an Honours Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Urban Development from Western University. His previous work experience includes roles with Home Trust Company and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), where he gained valuable insight into CMHC’s programs and processes — an asset to the MCAP team and our clients. Before taking on his current role at MCAP, he previously held the role of Senior Commercial Loan Analyst with our CMG team.

Pairing his personal interest in urban development with his deep background in credit, Stephane is dedicated to finding solutions that will best meet our clients’ needs. He believes in fostering strong and enduring relationships, both professionally and on a personal level — it is a driving factor behind Stephane’s approach to work. Execution and ownership are paramount to his success. Through hard work and transparency, he aims to fortify his reputation within the market.

Mark Yhap is the Managing Partner of MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Group and is responsible for growing MCAP’s commercial platform on a national basis. Mark’s key contributions to the Commercial Mortgages Group (CMG) are identifying opportunities, setting strategic direction, and acquiring the required resources to expand CMG’s presence in the conventional and CMHC Insured term lending markets, and providing commercial subservicing to MCAP’s clients. Mark joined MCAP in 1989, and has held a variety of positions including loan origination, underwriting, investor relations, structured finance and fund raising. As seen through his different roles; Marks greatest passion in life is growth as an individual through continuing education and experience. Mark graduated, with Distinction, from Sir Wilfred Laurier University receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. David Boyle is the Co-Managing Partner for the CMG team. David joined MCAP in 2013, and is responsible for leading and managing the origination team in addition to developing new investor programs to support the targeted growth of CMG. In his previous role David was responsible for all aspects of investment management and credit policy at MCAP CMG. In addition to leading the underwriting team, David was also responsible for national credit adjudication. David has over 19 years’ experience in the financial services industry including commercial term, corporate cash-flow and development finance across a variety of sectors and locations. Prior to joining MCAP, David worked with three of the largest financial institutions in Ireland. In his various roles, he has originated, adjudicated and managed a diverse portfolio of loans in Europe and the U.S. David holds an MBA from Bangor University (UK), in addition to a multitude of professional banking and finance qualifications awarded by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and the Dublin Institute of Technology. Leo St. Germain is the Vice President, Origination of the Commercial Mortgages Group. He is responsible for originating, structuring, and closing commercial real estate debt transactions including CMHC insured financing for a variety of real estate owners, investors, developers, brokers, and not-for-profit organizations. Leo was successful in having MCAP selected to be one of two lenders by the Province of Ontario for its Wave 1 Affordable Housing Program. Leo has over 25 years of experience in construction and commercial term real estate finance. Prior to joining MCAP in 1991, he held management positions with a Schedule 1 bank in corporate and real estate finance followed by a life company owned real estate finance subsidiary. His tenure with MCAP included several years with a mortgage brokerage subsidiary. Leo believes knowledge, integrity, honesty, accountability, and trust are the keys to being successful in this profession. Leo holds an MBA from the University of Toronto Rotman School Of Management. Leo is an avid road bike racer, and spent several years fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation principally through its annual Ride for Heart held in Toronto. In addition, he has participated in other fundraising initiatives, mostly involving cycling, such as the Ride for Karen, Cedars Cancer Foundation (Montreal), and Rethink Breast Cancer.

In addition, Brenda is responsible for investment management and assisting in the sale of MCAP’s mortgages to its commercial investors. Having previously worked at TD Bank and CMHC, she brings a wealth of experience to this position having been active in real estate finance for over 25 years. As Associate Director, Commercial Funding, Nelly Eshraghi brings a unique combination of real estate experience and legal background to MCAP’s Commercial Mortgages Team. She developed in-depth industry knowledge over seven years in commercial real estate roles in the government and financial sectors and was called to the Iranian Law Society Bar in 2006 following her bachelor’s degree in Law and her master’s degree in International Commerce Law.
In her role today, Nelly manages and oversees the financial operations related to commercial funding within the MCAP organization, such as developing and implementing funding strategies, fostering relationships with financial institutions, mitigating financial risks, providing leadership and guidance, and staying up to date on market changes. Recognized as a team leader who can be counted on to solve issues, secure funding deals and develop strategic partnerships, Nelly is known for her ability to mitigate risk, operate efficiently and expand funding options for clients.

Outside of work, Nelly is an artist specializing in watercolour and pastels. She also enjoys playing the piano and the tar (a Persian instrument).
