As an Analyst for the Ancillary Products department, one of Trae Green’s favourite things about his work is that he is always learning and growing. In his role, Trae is responsible for month-end reporting, providing financial statements, financial analysis & projections, writing business cases, product development and data analytics related to the ancillary products MCAP offers like Mortgage Life and Disability Insurance and Home Warranty.
Taking A Chance on Something New
Trae started his journey at MCAP in April 2019 in an operations role with the SupportBIE team – the team dedicated to assisting MCAP’s Business Development Managers (BDM) by handling various tasks like rate changes, registering brokers on the Broker portal, and onboarding BDMs. After 2 and a half years in the role, Trae felt a strong desire to further his career development. That’s when he decided to apply for the analyst role. “It was a big jump, and I was nervous to apply,” he shares. “But I took a leap of faith, believing what is meant for me will be.”
Now, just over 2 and a half years later, Trae is excelling in his role, and he attributes this to the support of an amazing team and management. As he explains, “this journey has been a testament to the power of taking risks and the importance of a supportive work environment in career development.”
Growing, Learning, and Collaborating
Throughout his tenure at MCAP, Trae has leveraged several key resources to help him grow professionally. Some of those resources have included internal training programs, mentorship programs and networking opportunities, like company events and industry conferences where he’s been able to build new relationships.
Collaboration is an integral part of MCAP’s work culture and it’s another aspect that has helped Trae develop in his career. “By participating in cross-functional projects and networking opportunities,” he shares, “I broaden my experience and build meaningful relationships within the organization.”
The Impact of Blue Culture
According to Trae, MCAP’s Blue Culture plays a large role in his day-to-day role by fostering an environment rooted in consistency, connection, and respect. “This culture emphasizes the importance of nurturing relationships through collaboration and trust, which enhances teamwork and productivity.”
Blue Culture also guides his interactions and decision-making processes. From Trae’s perspective,
“The focus on serving people and connecting with what truly matters ensures that I approach my responsibilities with empathy and dedication. This culture not only shapes how I conduct business but also enriches my professional growth and satisfaction at MCAP.”
