At MCAP, one of our top priorities is giving back and supporting the communities where we work and do business. In 2024, we had the privilege of supporting many deserving organizations and charities across Canada with the help of our brokers and employees. Here are some of the highlights from 2024!
Supporting Local
With MCAP offices across Canada, we’re uniquely positioned to show up and support our local communities in a profound way. Two initiatives our company and employees were able to support in 2024 were Ride for Heart and Habitat for Humanity Canada’s Indigenous Housing Partnership.
Ride for Heart: In 2024, team MCAP completed 15,407 km and raised over $9K! To support our community of MCAP employees in this wellness initiative, MCAP also contributed for a total donation to $15K to recognize the hard work of #TeamMCAP and the Heart & Stroke and their life-saving research.
“[Ride for Heart] is fun, it's an excellent excuse to get outside and be active, and, most importantly, it's for a great cause. Whether the focus is on distance, fundraising, or getting involved with other MCAPers, the Ride for Heart event is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in a lot of lives and have some fun doing it. ”
Zach D., MCAP Employee & Ride for Heart participant
“I got involved with Ride for Heart because it’s an incredible opportunity to combine fitness, community, and a meaningful cause. Supporting heart health and funding research has a direct impact on so many lives. My grandfather passed away from a heart attack at the age of 39 and supporting this event is my way of honoring his memory and that of so many others in hopes to prevent others from experiencing similar tragedies by raising awareness of heart disease and stroke research.”

Habitat for Humanity Canada’s Indigenous Housing Partnership: MCAP employees came together to host the 5th annual golf tournament to raise funds in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada’s Indigenous Housing Partnership. This initiative aims to help create safe places to live and provide training to Indigenous families to help build and maintain homes in their communities. With this donation, we hope to help Indigenous families across Canada access homeownership.
Embracing the Season of Giving by Giving Back
This year, in lieu of sending gifts to our investors for the holiday season, MCAP donated to three national charities on behalf of our investors and a successful 2024. Donations were made to Raising the Roof, Big Brother Big Sister Canada, and Food Banks Canada.
Partnering with Habitat for Humanity
MCAP has been a proud supporter of Habitat for Humanity Canada for over 20 years. Through various programs and initiatives, we’ve been able to work alongside our partners at Habitat to help more Canadians realize their goal of homeownership.

Caring and Sharing Fund
The Caring and Sharing Fund allows MCAP to support charities that are important and meaningful to MCAP employees. Every year, MCAP designates $20,000 to the fund and lets employees nominate charities in their communities or that are significant to their lives for the opportunity to receive a donation.
Here are some of the charities we supported this year through the Caring and Sharing Fund:
- Grand River Hospital Foundation
- BC Cancer, Volunteers for Humanity
- Pet Patrol
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Canada
- Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre
- The Food Bank of Waterloo Region
“The cause I support and nominated for the Caring and Sharing Fund is Ride for Dad. My Dad is a prostrate cancer survivor, treated at GrandRiver Hospital (Kitchener) 15 years ago. I’ve been riding my motorbike each year since his diagnosis, to raise funds for research & awareness, in honour of his survival, and the wellness of men going through treatment.”
Nancy P., MCAP Employee & Caring and Sharing Fund Participant
“I chose Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre, as there are many charities for humans, many for pets, but not too many for the wildlife in need. Local to my hometown Napanee, Sandy Pines is available at any time to take in injured wildlife and either rehabilitate them for release into the wild, or humanely put them down when there is no hope. They arrange for volunteers to drive certain animals to other places across Ontario that specialize in that type of wildlife and, being solely funded from donations, bequeaths and fundraising events, it was important to me to help if I could.”

Continuing to Make a Positive Impact
We’re tremendously proud of the positive impact we’ve had on our communities and we’re grateful for the support of our employees, broker partners and homeowners to make all this happen. We’re looking forward to doing even more in 2025!
